Wk 1 Journal

Well the first week of my service learning I stayed in Ms. Duval Class, because the station I was suppose to go to they did'nt respond back quick enough. So my high school graduation coach asked the Early Learning Center (ELC) supervisor would she be willing to have help with their babies on Wednesdays and maybe other days that I could work and the answer was a yes, so I started working in the ELC the following week.

Wk 3 Task 2 (1-2)

Taking Better Notes:
1. Write more quickly so I can write more information down.
2. Listen to the teacher and never get off task.
3. Take more notes
4. Always re-read and study notes.
5. And never feel like I'm to tired to take notes or I dont need to take notes.

Controlling Procrastinating:
1.Motivate myself to work on a task with thoughts.
2.Commit myself to completing a task once started.
3.Work on tasks at times I work best.
4.work on a task I find easier after completing a difficult task.
5.Find a good place to work on tasks.

Wk 2 Task 4 (journal)

My first impressions of my service learning was " this is gonna be hard all the babies going to be crying at once."I can't do this! But now since I've been there for a couple of weeks I see that it's really different. I work with Ms. Tammy and her group of kids. There's toddlers and babies in the room, and i really enjoy watching them. What I do is help out with the toddler activities, feed the babies, help the toddlers clean up, and keep the babies quiet.

What I've learned so far is really nothing that I already didnt know.What I've learned about working with the people at my center is they can get real tired ,from all the running around after the toddlers , keeping the babies quiet, and getting them to sleep. But They DONT let their tiredsome hold them down! A positive experience I've had is that I'm able to hold all the babies without them crying. I haven't really had a negative experience so far. In the next couple of weeks I look forward to continuing to have a fun time with all the kids!
